The ZenBook A16 stands out as a fast, premium Windows on ARM laptop with a 3K OLED 120 hertz touch display, 48 gigabytes of RAM, and very strong battery life. The Snapdragon X2E94100 feels snappy in everyday use, runs quietly, and can deliver around 10 hours of real work. App compatibility is much better than early ARM fears suggested, but specific programs, some games, and a few utilities still fail or need workarounds. Open box warranty handling and the single M.2 storage slot are the main cautions, though the machine still looks like a capable travel and productivity pick.

If you're going to clone to a larger SSD (I used a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB), I would recommend using Hasleo Backup Suite and do the cloning live in Windows (not from a bootable portable USB drive). Being ARM is a little different than doing it on an Intel Windows laptop. This ASUS has 16 partitions on the SSD. Hasleo is the only one I could get working as it should. Macrium works but marks the wrong partition as the boot so the target SSD doesn't boot. You can fix it with a some commands to mark the correct partition. Search with Google as there is a reddit thread how to fix it.
good info. usb m.2 adapters are cheap enough. i guess a fresh install is on the table too. guess ill decide when it comes haha

I'm reading that Netflix will automatically downgrade 4K content to 1080p when streaming on this laptop because the native resolution of this laptop is 3K. Can anybody who has this laptop comment on this?

I dont care about the size (I'd actually prefer smaller and/or long battery life). But only 512 GB HDD is killing me... I need it for video editing and need 1 TB...

I've not looked into a clean install, but I wonder where to get the Windows 11 26H1 ARM ISO image and then you need to make a suitable USB installer that boots on ARM. There is an ARM version of RUFUS, maybe that will do the trick.

Unfortunately the A14 only comes with 16GB which is a shame. You can, though, upgrade the SSD yourself if you have the skills. You can use the free Hasleo Backup to clone the drive to a new, bigger one. You just need a USB adapter for the new drive to connect to the A16 during cloning.

Since you have this laptop...can you share some information?

[1] How is the OLED reflective screen for eyes?

[2] If you're doing any development work, can you share which software didn't work properly?

[3] Have you installed any local LLM? If yes, how is your experience?

Is this a touchscreen? One of the videos I watched said it wasn't.

Unfortunately, I am not a developer nor do I use LLM's so I can't give any input on 2 and 3. Sorry.

Like most OLED displays, it is very glossy but about the same reflectivity as my MacBook Pro 16. Almost like there is some coating on there to reduce the reflections.

If I had anything bad to say about the screen, it's that on mine, the white is just a bit washed out compared to my Mini-LED monitor which has perfect whites.

I had a Zenbook S16 that I recently sold and side-by-side, the S16 had whiter whites. Could just be the brand of the panel in my A16. Not a showstopper by any means for me.

compatibility. some programs just aren't going to work. i guess its come a long way and is still getting there but you'll have programs that just won't work. but i guess these cpu's are actually low battery usage beasts and should be fine for most.
I couldn't run any games on the one I tried. DRM failures, weird crashes, or just really low frame rates.

Consumer Reports rated it at 72. They give their highest ratings to LG. (80-82)
