I store my gas in metal jerry cans - the tighter the seal the better for longevity. That said, to get that seal Jerry cans don't have an air makeup. Plus they are nearly 50lb when full with 5 gallons of gas. That means emptying them when full is especially difficult - not spilling while simultaneously directing the hose into a garden implement and holding up 50 lb while it's glugging along (no air makeup = poor flow).
A device like this would be great even if it's just temporary (take it out every time).
- no wrecking my back trying to hoist 50 lb
- no spilling gas everywhere
- consistent, manageable flow
Heck there have even been times where I've decided to put some that's left in a gas can into my car but many newer cars require a mini funnel to bypass some anti-siphon devices and that also reduces flow so I wind up overflowing the funnel. This should act more or less just like a gas pump.
