WARNING. This product is not electrically correct. As many have noted using outlet testers the NEUTRAL and HOT are reversed in this product. I have personally confirmed this with a multimeter voltage test.
A swapped hot and neutral will operate correctly but can have minor to dangerous consequences. In the worst case downstream products can have EMC problems since the hot terminal isn't properly filtered to ground. In other cases protection mechanisms (like fuses) which are normally only present on the HOT line for many domestic products will be unsafe during a fault condition (the fuse will disable the device but not remove live power from the circuitry as intended.
I would highly recommend people do not use this product even though it may seem fine under normal conditions.

There's also an FCC test report for the MFISH E-TANK-240W showing the sample was received in October 2024, while Genki's Moonbase crowdfunding campaign didn't go live until December 2024.
That doesn't prove who originally designed the 240W version, or whether there was a shared OEM involved, but it does make the simple "MFish saw Moonbase and copied it afterward" explanation hard to square with the public timeline.
For context, I just found this through Google and checked the public Kickstarter/Indiegogo pages and FCC docs. I used GPT to help organize the timeline, but the dates themselves are from those public sources.

MFish E-Tank is a compact desktop charging station that combines three AC outlets with four USB C ports, RGB lighting, and high wattage charging in one hub. The design is also described as very similar to Genki Moonbase, and the price is called much better than buying a comparable Ugreen Nexode 200W setup. The main concern is electrical safety, with repeated testing showing hot and neutral reversed on some units. That makes it a neat desk charger on paper, but the wiring issue is hard to ignore.
Common Questions (5)
Multiple tests report the hot and neutral are reversed on the AC outlets. That reverse polarity can defeat normal safety behavior on the hot side, so it should not be used until verified or corrected.
It is described as essentially the same desktop charger with different branding. The MFish version is also noted as the better deal in this thread.
Yes. It is described as a 240W GaN station, and one comparison notes the port output pattern matches a Ugreen Nexode 200W with 140W, 100W, and 30W outputs across three of the four USB-C ports.
No. It is a 7-in-1 desktop charging station with 3 AC outlets and 4 USB-C ports only, so USB-A devices need a separate adapter or charger.
The code may need to be applied by tapping the arrow inside the promo code box before pressing Continue. The checkout flow is described as confusing, so missing that step can prevent the discount from applying.

My socket lights are red not blue, there's probably something I could do about that but I'm not going to, and they pulse to show something, maybe it's charging, maybe it's because it's connected to something, or maybe just because. I guess I'd better check on the reversed wiring but even if it's wron I'm not sure I'll return it as it will only ever be used for chargers, nothing more critical.
I need to take a break from SD I think . . . .

For my laptop, I already have 2 chargers. I will only get more over time.

A power bar wired with the hot and neutral reversed is a serious safety defect because it leaves the internal components energized even when the switch is off. This means the surge protection and fuses end up on the neutral side instead of the hot, so they can't actually stop live voltage from reaching the outlets. As a result, metal parts or connected devices may remain electrically "hot," creating a real shock hazard, increasing the risk of electrical fires, and potentially damaging sensitive electronics. Even though the power bar may appear to work normally, the reversed wiring completely defeats its built‑in safety features and makes it unsafe to use.

Yes, the MFish E-Tank 7-in-1 Desktop Charging Station has UL safety certification. The enclosure material is rated PC94V-0 fire-proof level, which means it meets UL standards for electrical equipment safety and fire resistance.
Additional safety features include 1250W surge protection to guard against power spikes, and customers consistently report reliable performance with all their high-power devices.
You might be missing the step of tapping on the arrow that appears in the promo code box to apply the code (before tapping the Continue button). It's definitely a confusing design, I hope they change it.
many times I tried it... It worked! No clue why I bought this, just looks so cool, and for the price, why the hell not! Thank you for your help! Cheers, Nick
