Nothing Phone 4a Pro comes across as a midrange Android with snappy software, strong hardware design, and a distinctive Glyph light look. The cameras are serviceable but not the standout, so the higher RAM and storage option feels more appealing. Update support is listed at 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. The main cautions are carrier compatibility, especially Verizon and AT and T, missing LTE Band 13, and no SD card, with some concern about long term company stability.

Common Questions (5)

  • It is not recommended for Verizon because it lacks CDMA and LTE Band 13, and Verizon may require the IMEI to be added before use. AT&T support is also limited, with reports of missing 5G coverage and no VoWiFi/VoLTE behavior on some setups.

  • No LTE Band 13 is reported, which can hurt reception in rural areas, remote locations, and basements. That band is often the difference between usable signal and no service in fringe coverage areas.

  • The software is described as very snappy and the hardware/design as strong, but the cameras are the weak point and are only serviceable. It is best suited to buyers who want a fast, well-built phone and can live with average camera quality, ideally with the higher RAM/storage option.

  • Nothing provides 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. That makes it a longer-support option than many mid-range phones, though it is still below the 7-year support some buyers expect.

  • It has no SD card slot, so storage is fixed at purchase. GrapheneOS support is not available, which pushes privacy-focused buyers toward a Pixel instead.

No CDMA, not recommended for Verizon
I don't think Verizon still strictly uses CDMA. It's probably just a fallback for remote areas

This is why is stick with Apple. I can sell it after a few years and it only lost 35% of its value
See, this is why I have multiple phones. Value is all about usability to me, not so much resale. So I daily-drive a Pixel 8, use my Pixel 4a as a media player (it has a 3.5 mm audio jack), and keep my iPhone in my drawer so it stays clean and could be sold later for 35% off. Best of both worlds 😎

I briefly had the Nothing 2 and then their CMF Pro 2. Capable devices. Good build quality. Light customization and skinning. The glyph lights are a unique flourish. A friend has the flagship 3 and he is happy with the device. Camera quality, hand feel is pretty good.

I want nothing more than for OnePlus to return to the USA.

Nothing more.

Go look at the specs of the OnePlus 15 and 16.

The phones they force us to buy in the US are a national embarrassment.

9000 mAh battery in the OnePlus 16.

Get this administration out of office and remove all tariffs.
All fun and games until they stop selling to us lol

They're called Nothing Phones because that's exactly the amount it'll be worth when trying to sell/trade it in.
You do understand thats an industry rejecting any new players, not their fault and the fault of unregulated capitalisim. It has the same if not better hardware than any of the big boys for less. It is a much better value, service and phone for the price than a lot of options mainly because they are doing it right with default unlocked. The whole locked concept is fukin bull shit.

Yep. Want to buy my slightly used Essential?? Enjoy
Of course they are struggling, the way the USA works right now is monopolies they don't allow compitition with trumponomics, they call it national security and ban you.

Wrong comment about CDMA.
This phone won't support most of 5G bands in US, all 3 carriers will get hit using this phone:
AT&T: 3G/4G/5G supported (not all 5G). voLTE and voNR is supported. LTE: 2/4/5/12/48/66 5G: n2/n5/n48/n66/n77
T-Mobile: 3G/4G/5G supported (not all 5G). LTE: 2/4/12/17/25/41/66/71, 5G: n2/n12/n25/n41/n66/n78
Verizon Network: Limited 3G/4G/5G bands. You MUST contact Verizon customer service to add the device IMEI to their database before use. LTE: 2/4/5/48/66. 5G: n2/n5/n48/n66/n84

For examples. my area for T-Mo is 5G SA and this phone is missing band n71 n17. I mainly connect to n71 during evening peak hours itself on Samsung but this phone is missing n71.

" Verizon officially shut down its legacy 3G CDMA network on December 31, 2022"

Per google.
