Nothing Phone 4a Pro comes across as a midrange Android with snappy software, strong hardware design, and a distinctive Glyph light look. The cameras are serviceable but not the standout, so the higher RAM and storage option feels more appealing. Update support is listed at 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. The main cautions are carrier compatibility, especially Verizon and AT and T, missing LTE Band 13, and no SD card, with some concern about long term company stability.

  • The phone is described as having a snappy software experience with a strong hardware and design feel.

  • The phone is reported to work well on T-Mobile and an MVNO like US Mobile with full 5G in practice.

  • The phone is noted to include 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates.

  • The phone is described as having capable performance and good build quality with light customization and glyph-light design.

  • The phone is reported to miss LTE Band 13, which can be critical for rural or basement reception.

  • The phone is not recommended for Verizon because it lacks CDMA support.

  • The phone is reported to have carrier limitations on AT&T, including no 5G at home and unavailable VoWiFi.

  • The phone is reported to only work on T-Mobile because Verizon and AT&T have not whitelisted it yet.

I think Nothing is a cool company, but some reports seem to indicate they are struggling.

https://9to5google.com/2026/07/24...ts-report/

This does mention that Nothing denied the claims of exiting markets, but then also says they are laying off some employees due to "reorganization"

Just my 2 cents, but I'd be hesitant to buy a phone from a company that is small and might struggle to stay alive in a few years (pure speculation).

I just picked up a OnePlus 15 16gb/512gb for $650 like new on Marketplace. Keep looking. I replaced a OnePlus 11.
I'm still rocking it with a oneplus 7pro McLaren edition. Works flawlessly. Although can't seem to find the McLaren edition phone cover case anymore. Anyone know where I can pick one up?

I don't know if the McLaren (btw one of the best phones OnePlus made) is different than the regular 7Pro, but AliExpress has a bunch of 7Pro cases.

Sounds like the Essential Phone back in 2017. So much promise of worthless in the end.

No CDMA, not recommended for Verizon
Does Verizon even use CDMA? Thought they phased that out completely in 2023 or so?

Phone is nothing compared to OnePlus, at least that had a identity and purpose, this is garbage. Carl needs to try to work for Samsung at this point and fix the ultra

I am genuinely in the market for a phone as my OnePlus 8T is on its deathbed. Please tell me about another new phone with 12 GB RAM that is not renewed / refurbished, for a similar price tag, that I can use with T-Mo. I don't want to go through buying with another carrier that can be unlocked few months down the road. I need one right now. I don't like the small form factor of pixels. I am ok with anything that can last me a couple of years. I know OPO is pulling from USA but the updates won't stop rolling out. However everyone says don't get OPO. I am seriously debating between Nothing, Redmagic and OPO. Please don't laugh.
Got an Ace 6T, snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with 12GB RAM. Works excellent with T mobile direct as well as an MVNO (US Mobile) on their network. I got full 5G everywhere, though not sure if 5G is supported on ATT or Verizon. Honestly go for the Aliexpress sale sometimes where you get this phone for like 350 shipped! Who cares if it's China ROM, everything works perfect from Google Pay to calls and texts. I've had more issues with iPhones than this phone and that's saying something.

That's been changing in the past few generations, even though Apple tends to retain more value than other phones. Once you're at about 2.5 years, an iPhone typically has lost 45%-50% of its value, unless you luck into a carrier trade-in deal that locks you in for a specified amount of time. That's still better than other phones, but not as great as it once was.
