I just bought two of these systems. I don't need the extra base, but it will be great to have the additional keypad, extra motion sensor, outdoor camera, and more door entry sensors. $200 for a standalone system with all of that is a great deal. Compare to any other brand. A steal as far as I'm concerned. I have a Gen 1 simplisafe that still works, but I want an app to turn it on an off rather than a fob, and this Gen 3 has it. I assume they're blowing them out because Gen 4 must be on the way. Great, this should be fine. I say should, I just hope there's no deal breaker catch. As long as the camera notifies on activity and I can turn the alarm on and off with my phone, I'm grand.

I don't want or need the simplisafe monitoring. I just want something to make sure nobody sneaks up on me at night. Look what just happened to that pediatric critical care Dr. and his wife just outside of Pittsburgh. The chance of a home invasion where I live is highly, highly unlikely, but I'll sleep better with with this just the same.

i hope you can sleep better now after knowing the fact that a $2 garage door remote control on amazon could jam the signal and render this whole system useless.

I picked this up on sale before it was posted here. Setup was a breeze, and it's definitely adequate for the price. If you aren't planning to subscribe to their 24/7 monitoring, I'd treat this as a basic smart motion detection system. One of my biggest gripes is that it doesn't notify you if a door is opened unless you're in away mode. Other basic features like announcing the motion sensor's name are also locked behind the subscription.
