UPDATED 9/27!

Did this deal myself today. SHOPRITE sells a variable load 20-$200 Visa Card. That's what I chose.

Loaded $150 on the card to qualify for the $20 voucher.

Paid $157.95 with transaction fee using a CC that pays 5% back at Grocery Stores. The $20 Voucher printed out.

Straight $12.05 MM. IMO these are the best type of GC deals where I can turn around and use the Visa card to pay various bills. getting a free $12.05 on $150 outlay is about an 8% return on my money. Plus the $7.50 I'll earn in CC rewards making it $19.55 for about a 13% return.

With your Shoprite Price Plus Card. Transaction fee(s) apply but should still be a MM.

$20 off $20 grocery voucher valid 10/4-10/10. Must be spent all in one order. No cash back and not valid on other gift cards, alcohol and other similar items.

These typically have a $5.95 fee. So really a net $14. Not as good as their almost any gift card deal.

it's a $7.95 fee and sorry, but disagree with you 100%. This is a $12 CASH MM, you can use the Visa/MC to pay bills online, RX copays, many things you'd otherwise lay out cash or get a CC BILL for.

On $150 it's an 8% return on your money. Who cares about store gift cards when someone is giving you a free $12.05 in CASH EQUIVALENT?

Because Shoprite's typical offer is $20 on $100 or $10 on $50 (20%) for branded merchant cards. This is less for a card that gets rejected at many online retailers. Maybe useful if you're churning or have CC spending offers. This is an average offer at GiftCards.com on cards with a lower fee.
