All my kids grew up with white noise machine, given I usually have brands like Lectrofan or Yogasleep dohm. They are 10-14 now, still using them and no one has issues.

Same. I actually got this Dreamegg for travel when it was on sale back in February bc the portable Marpac I was using for years is mini-USB and the Dreamegg is USB-C. I will say, the Dreamegg has been perfectly fine.

I been trying on Amazon app since yesterday. I'm doing exactly that way.

Edit: I had to do it on the laptop in order to get it to work.
