I spent a few years moonlighting as a bartender, and we used a pair of Vitamix 5200 as the bar blenders, so I have extensive experience with them. The 5200 is an awesome blender. There's a reason you see them regularly in bars and restaurants. That said, I prefer the Alta Pro. It only has a few presets, but they're incredibly useful ones. Additionally, while it's true that the low-profile pitcher doesn't handle very small quantities quite as well as the tall pitcher, you can always add another if you want, and it fits under a cabinet, which matters a lot for me.
