Is there a hack to get the video stored or recommend another smart doorbell without subscriptions? My Ring doorbell is unapologetically slow to inform me of any live notifications (sometimes more than 30 secs). Not sure if this is my device problem or others are also seeing the same issue.

Mine is slow and disconnects when I try to use it quite often. That's why I'm looking at this. Mine is 5 years old.

Ive used every ring doorbell released as if 6 years ago. In real life use.for $40 tgis is the best deal by far.the 2k is 90% as hood as the 4k, its not easy to see much better video quality with the 4k. Low light performance is better with 4k but the 2k us better than any of the prior models for sure. The 4k is a nice update if you want the best and have to limit the range due to tons of traffic, using radar motion detection. For most peopel the 2k is more than enough, and for $40 a total steal, literally

I currently use a Blink doorbell because it has local storage option (have to buy some local hub). The main gripe is that even though the battery does last a decent while (month or two) still have to remember to swap out batteries. This ring one also seems it's only battery powered, but could someone confirm?
