Visit the deal page on a desktop browser. Also do store pick up if possible to get the phone unlocked right away otherwise you might have to wait for 35 days for unlock.

You can select new customer and pay in full to get the $480 price. You can then select simplicity plan. Once you get the phone you can just cancel the line. Verizon unlocking policy states the devices are unlocked immediately if you pay in full. Their cancellation policy states no activation fee within 3 days and then only prorated charges if you cancel your line within 30 days.

***You might have to wait for 35 days before the phone is unlocked if you don't do store pickup in person as Verizon considers their online store purchase with delivery not secure. You can cancel your line nonetheless as the device will still unlock automatically after 35 days****

This is a steeply discounted Pixel 11 Pro deal through Verizon, but the real appeal is the upfront price cut and the chance to cancel after activation. The strongest reports say store pickup tends to unlock the phone right away, while shipped orders are more likely to trigger a 35 day wait or a manual unlock request. The main catches are Verizon bootloader locking, possible full month billing or prorated charge cleanup after cancellation, and some uncertainty around cashback timing. A good fit if you want the phone and can handle Verizon's extra steps.

  • People who want a Pixel 11 Pro for everyday Android use, because it can be activated on Verizon, verified with another carrier eSIM, and then canceled with only a small prorated bill.

  • Buyers who need a phone that works with Google Fi or other non-Verizon eSIMs, because the device can accept a different carrier eSIM after activation.

  • Shoppers who want to avoid a long carrier contract, because the discount is applied upfront instead of through 36 months of bill credits.

  • People comfortable doing a quick activation-and-cancel workflow, because store pickup, immediate unlock checks, and same-day cancellation have worked smoothly for some orders.

  • People who need an unlockable bootloader for custom ROMs, because Verizon units are bootloader locked and cannot be flashed with a custom Android OS.

  • Buyers who need a guaranteed instant unlock on delivery, because shipped orders can stay locked for days or require a 35-day wait and support escalation.

  • People who want to cancel without any billing follow-up, because Verizon can still send a full-month bill that may need another chat to adjust.

  • Shoppers who need a simple, no-hassle eSIM transfer, because some units show Verizon contact errors or fail to add another carrier eSIM until extra troubleshooting.

Just another data point. Real headache dealing with Verizon. I bought online through PayPal, the phone arrived locked (showing locked both in My Verizon and when trying to add an eSim). Chat support couldn't figure out why it wasn't unlocked and they couldn't unlock it. Multiple phone agents also couldn't figure it out (one mentioned the outdated 60 day unlock policy). Finally I got an agent who brought up the 35 day unlock policy for unsecure payment methods, but the policy wording is dubious whether that actually applies to phones which were paid in full at time of purchase. I asked them to escalate and they said they'll get back to me.
Keep us posted if escalation results in unlocking.

If a device is showing as unlocked already before even activating it, does that mean you can just never activate it and sell it as new in box?
You can't trust it's already unlocked. It might be but sometimes you do need to activate the device on the network for it to be unlocked nonetheless.

Did you check if the device is actually unlocked by using it with non-verizon sim?
No, it's still sealed in the box.
But I know Pixels have weird lock behaviours, where it's unlocked on the initial boot, and then after that, it talks to the server to check lock status.

If Verizon is willing to tell me its unlocked right now, that's good enough for my purposes at this time. I'm okay with following up in 35 days, etc.

By the way, I bought the phone from store, shows up as unlocked in the verizon account page. However, when I tried to add another esim (other than visible cos visible is owned by verizon, like tmobile or others), the phone says contact verizon. I did, and the support says I needed to wait for 60 days to add another esim. So, it is unlocked but not truly unlocked. Bait and switch. Returning the phone.

Update device and then give it a reboot and check again. One of mine was doing that and it resolved itself. Now if I could just figure out why one is still showing locked on their end i'd be in business.

What are you planning to do with it sealed in the box? I was hoping to sell mine as an unlocked new in box, but it seems that we need to open them to be safe.

You should try to reboot etc sometime it takes a bit on the backend to send the signal to Google server.

Aren't you still going to pay for full month? So $30 (port in) or $45 (new number) should be added.
Heads up, The tax will be for the full price of the phone in CA. So + $111

Yeah CA tax kills many of these deals.

1. Order the phone, pay in full.
2. After receiving the phone, boot up and activate it on Verizon, make a few calls etc.
3. Check if the phone is unlocked. Download a Google Fi eSIM for free by starting a trial and see if that works. Fi is on T-Mobile so if that works the phone is unlocked for sure.
4. Chat/call with Verizon to cancel the line effectively immediately. They are trained to cancel the line at the end of billing cycle but you are doing this as part of buyers remorse because of poor coverage etc. In this case, they will charge you only for days the service was active.

5. Verizon will most likely send you a bill for full month. You then talk to them again, bring up Verizon policy to get charges waived.

Additionally check unmentionable cashback with Verizon purchases which can give you a significant cashback on purchase
Thank you. Do i need to pick this up in store to get this unlocked?

Also, if the phone is still locked since I was reading somewhere that newly purchased device from verizon still locked for 60 days? Is that true
