You can select new customer and pay in full to get the $480 price. You can then select simplicity plan. Once you get the phone you can just cancel the line. Verizon unlocking policy states the devices are unlocked immediately if you pay in full. Their cancellation policy states no activation fee within 3 days and then only prorated charges if you cancel your line within 30 days.

***You might have to wait for 35 days before the phone is unlocked if you don't do store pickup in person as Verizon considers their online store purchase with delivery not secure. You can cancel your line nonetheless as the device will still unlock automatically after 35 days****

This is a steeply discounted Pixel 11 Pro deal through Verizon, but the real appeal is the upfront price cut and the chance to cancel after activation. The strongest reports say store pickup tends to unlock the phone right away, while shipped orders are more likely to trigger a 35 day wait or a manual unlock request. The main catches are Verizon bootloader locking, possible full month billing or prorated charge cleanup after cancellation, and some uncertainty around cashback timing. A good fit if you want the phone and can handle Verizon's extra steps.

  • People who want a Pixel 11 Pro for everyday Android use, because it can be activated on Verizon, verified with another carrier eSIM, and then canceled with only a small prorated bill.

  • Buyers who need a phone that works with Google Fi or other non-Verizon eSIMs, because the device can accept a different carrier eSIM after activation.

  • Shoppers who want to avoid a long carrier contract, because the discount is applied upfront instead of through 36 months of bill credits.

  • People comfortable doing a quick activation-and-cancel workflow, because store pickup, immediate unlock checks, and same-day cancellation have worked smoothly for some orders.

  • People who need an unlockable bootloader for custom ROMs, because Verizon units are bootloader locked and cannot be flashed with a custom Android OS.

  • Buyers who need a guaranteed instant unlock on delivery, because shipped orders can stay locked for days or require a 35-day wait and support escalation.

  • People who want to cancel without any billing follow-up, because Verizon can still send a full-month bill that may need another chat to adjust.

  • Shoppers who need a simple, no-hassle eSIM transfer, because some units show Verizon contact errors or fail to add another carrier eSIM until extra troubleshooting.

OK I'm so confused. So the phone is $480 wihich seems really good deal. Than it's $30 a month for service which isn't too bad I pay $20 a month for Mint. So my question is how long until the phone is unlocked if I don't cancel. Is it a year 3 months? Do I have too call. I'm currently with mint but want to get out for 3 months so I can get a new deal with them. $480 for the phone and even if I keep version for a year it's only $10 more a month for 12 months. So I'm still only looking at $600 plus taxes and fees for a phone that cost well over a $1,000. Am I doing the math right? $30 a month isn't horrible is it?

If you just want the phone then it should be unlocked if you pay for it in full and pick up in store. You can verify it's unlocked and cancel same day, you should just end up with a really small final prorated bill. You can stay on Mint if you want.

You get the phone with a new number, pick it up on store, verify it's unlocked and then cancel the line. That's pretty much about it. You are loved king at $480 plus less than $10 of prorated service charge for couple of days.

Edit: If you get the cashback people are talking about here, the phone can basically be free with $600 CB

Isn't mint $15 per month for up to a year? I saw that promo yesterday but may be expired now.

Or maybe that is just for new customers.

I think the biggest part of this that may make sense to people is if they don't want a 36 month contract which is typical with new phones.

It's a flat out discount, not bill credits spread over 36 months.

Darn the $600 CB was working last night but I was thinking about it. It's down to $30 cb now which is a no-go for me. Oh well... I am sure it'll come around some other time.

I think it will for sure. If you Google you see people referring to the 600 and 750 gcb (not going to call it cb cause it's not) multiple times throughout this year.

One last question and thanks for all the help. Verzion says their plan is $30 a month is that only if you port your number? Says After AutoPay and $15/mo switch discount. Ok have to port number. Does it really matter anyway if I pay the $45 now and just cancel in 3 days or even a month?

Be warned that Verizon is very aggressive with sending accounts to Collections. They have your SSN, this deal is for postpaid account (not prepaid). If there is any clawback, it won't matter that you have changed your credit card number.

Best of luck! Seems like a great deal on paper.

Bought and picked up phone yesterday. 512gb $600 + tax. Didn't even bother activating the verizon line, went straight into stalling the eSIM for Mint and it worked flawlessly.

Set up a verizon account and activated the line today so that I could have account details handy to cancel it. Just said I don't get proper service at my workplace and denied help troubleshooting it.

FYI- I had set up the free 6mo of Google AI. As soon as the line was cancelled, all my gmail/google doc tabs were freaking out saying I no longer had that anymore

So I assume you didn't port number and signed up with a new number for $45

Don't be that guy. There is no fine print or terms and conditions to this. It's just a flat dollar amount discount off of retail price.

It literally just says:

If I had a nickel for every time that effing CB didn't track via c1, I'd be a millionaire. I swear to god they make it half-broken on purpose and hope people don't follow up on it. Infuriating...
