This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a heavily discounted flagship and then verifying carrier unlock after activation. The strongest upside is the low out of pocket price, with store pickup and immediate activation often leading to an unlocked phone that works with Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or other eSIMs. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since some units stay locked for hours or days and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation usually needs chat or phone support, and full month bills or prorated charge adjustments can take follow up.

Common Questions (5)

  • Often yes, but not always. Several buyers report the phone becomes carrier-unlocked after activation and can be verified with a non-Verizon eSIM like Google Fi or Mint, while others saw a 35-day hold or had to wait for Verizon support to push the unlock. Store pickup appears to be the most reliable path for immediate unlock.

  • No. Verizon Pixels are reported to have a permanently locked bootloader, which blocks OEM unlocking and custom ROM installs even if the phone is carrier-unlocked. The carrier unlock status and bootloader lock are separate.

  • Test it with a non-Verizon eSIM or SIM, especially a free Google Fi trial eSIM, or check whether multiple carrier networks appear under SIM/network settings. If Fi or another carrier activates, the phone is carrier-unlocked; Verizon's own status page can lag behind or be misleading.

  • Yes, many buyers cancel immediately after activation and report only a small prorated charge, but Verizon may first generate a full-month bill that has to be waived in chat or by phone. The activation fee is waived on this promo, and the line should be disconnected immediately rather than left active until the end of the billing cycle.

  • Yes. Store pickup is repeatedly reported to unlock the phone right away, likely because ID verification makes the purchase count as a secure payment, while shipped orders are the ones more often tied to the 35-day unlock delay or backend unlock requests.

Just did this under a new account. I already to have Verizon service separately. So I assume all I have to do once it arrives is activate on the new service, then switch the eSIM to my current service and then cancel the new service?

Bought one with 512gb for 640.49$ 🤞 delivery by Tuesday
is there a risk of things not going right? can you just cancel online through a system rather than an agent?

Was able to order one for store pickup but then it occurred to me that they might open it and activate on the Verizon sim while trying to force me to add pricey things. Would this negate it being unlocked somehow? It's been a minute since I hoarded, repaired and collected phones.
No they won't open and activate it. You have already chosen the plan etc so there won't be any upsell. You get the phone and leave. Then you have to activate, verify the phone is unlocked and then chat/call with them to cancel.

I would cancel it first making sure they are disconnecting right away and then move your current service to the phone.

There's no option on the app to cancel? We must chat call to cancel?

Store manager here. If you purchase any phone and get a promo on it, that promo is credited over 36 months. If you cancel before 36 months, you would be responsible for the remaining phone balance at the time of cancellation.
Store manager trying to kill the deal. GTFO lol

Thanks, I called Verizon because I accidentally selected transfer my existing number so I wanted to change it but the representative told me just call back and ask for a new number when you receive the phone. FYI cb $150 for new customers.
where is the $150 CB?

Yeah, you can't cancel from the app. You chat to cancel and make sure they disconnect the line right away, they are trained to end the line at the end of billing cycle which you don't want.
