This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a flagship Pixel at a steep upfront discount, with the best value coming from store pickup, activation, and then canceling the line after verifying unlock status. The phone can work with other carriers like Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or Xfinity once unlocked, and the account often shows it as paid in full. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since shipped orders sometimes stay locked for days or 35 days, and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation can also trigger full month bills or bill adjustments that may need chat support.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, many cancellations were completed the same day or within a day after activation, but Verizon may first show a full-month bill. The practical outcome reported is prorated service charges for a few dollars to about $10, with some cases needing a chat or call to waive the full-month amount.

  • Often yes, but some units show a delayed unlock state and need a Verizon unlock request or up to about 35 days if Verizon treats the payment as "unsecure." Store pickup with ID has been the most reliable path to immediate unlock, while shipped orders have more reports of delay.

  • The most reliable check is to test another carrier's SIM or eSIM, especially a free Google Fi trial eSIM. If Fi or another non-Verizon carrier works, the phone is unlocked; Verizon's status page or the available-network list can be misleading.

  • No. Verizon-branded Pixels are bootloader locked, so OEM unlocking stays greyed out and custom ROM flashing is blocked even if the phone is carrier-unlocked. That is separate from carrier unlock status.

  • Yes. The discounted price appears through the Simplicity Plan flow, not the normal device cart flow, and some shoppers only saw the $479.99 price after navigating through the Simplicity Plan banner and selecting the phone there.

So if shipped, it takes 35 days to unlock? Most of the "Verizon" is an authorized retailer in my area and only have corporate stores that are over 30 miles away. Are authorized retailer phones unlocked too?Is it worth keeping the line active for 3 months for the C1 cashback ranging from $150-$175?
It might be, first you should check then you can chat with customer agent and escalate as the phone is paid off and you ordered from their online store. Some here reportedly got it unlocked next day

Not available in my region. I reached out to us Mobile support and the esim transfer seems to run into some issues. Is there any way to check the device status after the Verizon line has been deactivated? I tried logging into my Verizon account but it doesn't let me in

You can use third party IMEI checkers. You also check if all networks show up under available networks but that might not guarantee an unlocked phone. There are other free trial MVNOs available to try I think?

Was able to try with Google Fi, just picked a random address. It worked on the first ESIM slot so phone seems to be fine as in unlocked. Still not able to port my esim from US Mobile (Warp) to the new phone. Frustrating.

For those thinking this deal is dead, you're doing it wrong. You have to purchase the phone with Verizon's Simplicity Plan. If you go directly to Devices and try adding the Pixel 11 Pro to your cart, you won't get the sale price.

To do this the right way, use your shopping portal of choice to open a tab with Verizon's page. Then click the word Verizon at the top of the page to get to Verizon's home page. There should be a Simplicity Plan banner. Click Get Started, then choose your discounted phone. e.g., Pixel 11 Pro should be $479.99.

How long do we have to keep line active? Or can it be canceled after 2 bill cycle to avoid charge back on card?

You should cancel it right away after verifying the phone is unlocked. I don't think keeping it for any number of months will prevent any chargeback but there should be a chargeback in the first place.

I don't think canceling the line will keep the phone at $480. I think it's only that price with credit given on the bill every month for 36mo
