Community Reviews

This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a flagship Pixel at a steep upfront discount, with the best value coming from store pickup, activation, and then canceling the line after verifying unlock status. The phone can work with other carriers like Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or Xfinity once unlocked, and the account often shows it as paid in full. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since shipped orders sometimes stay locked for days or 35 days, and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation can also trigger full month bills or bill adjustments that may need chat support.

I have seen people reported it took 24 hours but most here were able to just unlock instantly. Can you try with free Google Fi trail SIM. I think moving the eSIM to that phone is a bit tricky, some reported a process couple of pages back.
Tried that too but fails at the stage associating esim as it reports device is locked. I guess will wait for a day and try again. Profile shows device is paid off and also when ask AI to unlock, it says device is unlocked. Frown

rep told me it would take 30 days for them to unlock the phone because it was paid with a credit card. I still disconnected the line and will be responsible for around $2.

If it shows all the networks I am pretty sure it's unlocked. I'd say try with Fi SIM as its a brand new connection instead of moving an exsisting esim

Device settings>SIMs>Add SIM>Set up an esim > gives contact verizon screen with their phone number. When logged into Verizon account and checking device unlock status, it says locked. Even though on front page it said your device is paid off and I can Upgrade now
How about with Google Fi free trial esim?

It should be unlocked right away

The verizon line has already started when you placed the order. You can activate the phone later but you have to do it and check if it is unlocked. before you cancel the line

I am telling you what happened. It doesn't matter what policy they have.

And I am saying it's an automatic thing that will happen irrespective of what CS says to you. So did you check if the phone is already unlocked?

fyi, Pixels from Verizon are bootloader locked.
Just so the next guy coming here with the same question knows, this doesn't prevent you from taking it to another carrier. It just prevents you from putting your own OS on the device.

There's a lot of confusion around this, so I'd like to hear from someone who has actually gone through the process.
From what I understand, if you pay the phone off in full and cancel the line within 3 days, the phone becomes fully yours, gets unlocked, and there are no further payments due after the line is canceled. Is that correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is not the case, and I'm not sure who started this rumor on the Internet. I used to work for a wireless carrier. Well, I've worked for a lot of them, but on this project I was specifically on the roaming team. We had locked devices, but we would manually select roaming partners networks to test performance while roaming. The pic attached is from a Verizon locked device.

On another note, I'm not sure the screen showing Verizon's number when adding an eSIM will ever go away. I had a Visible Pixel 10 that showed that screen even after unlocking. On that screen, there should be an option at the bottom to "add a different SIM", or something like that. But again, that was a slightly different device.
