This Daytona 3 ton low profile floor jack is praised as a fast, sturdy option for DIY tire rotations and SUV work, with enough reach for lowered cars and big vehicles. The rapid pump action and low profile design stand out, and the price looks especially strong versus higher priced long reach or Snap on alternatives. The main cautions are its weight, a 9 inch minimum height that rules out some low riders, and the short 90 day warranty. It reads like a solid garage jack when you want speed and reach more than portability.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes for many DIY uses: it is described as quick to lift, solid for decades of Harbor Freight floor-jack use, and a strong value compared with pricier options like Arcan or Snap-on. The deal price is also noted as unusually low, with similar jacks previously selling around $120-$199 and the long-reach version costing about $275.

  • Yes. It has been used successfully on big SUVs, a Jeep Wrangler, a Ram 1500, and lowered cars. The jack's low-profile design and 18 1/4" lift make it practical for tire rotations and brake work, though the 9" minimum height means it will not fit very low riders.

  • The high-end Daytona line is often compared to Snap-on, but this deal jack is not the same as a Snap-on equivalent. The main practical differences called out are seals, valves, cylinder finishing, quality control, warranty, replacement parts, and lifespan; the deal model also has a 90-day warranty versus 3 years on higher-end Daytonas.

  • The jack is reported at about 18 1/4" lift height, with a 9" minimum height and 17.5" maximum lift mentioned in the thread. That makes it useful for many cars and SUVs, but not for very low riders or vehicles needing extra reach under the chassis.

  • No, it is considered too heavy for trunk storage and is better kept at home or in the garage. One user returned it after trying to keep it in a car and switched to a trolley jack instead.

The Daytona one is also an exact Snap-On jack. It's built on the exact same line as theirs and they sued the heck out of Harbor Freight for it and lost. Really quality/price wise by far the best option here
I'm waiting for the Daytona one as well. I have a truck I need to use it on in the future.

I've been using a 2-1/4 ton Craftsman trolley jack for a lot of years with no issues. Now that I'm getting older, I decided it was time to upgrade to a floor jack to make things easier, so I ordered a Vevor 3-ton low profile that was on sale at Lowes for the same price as this Daytona. It seemed like a decent jack but it's way too heavy so I returned it. I probably don't need a 3-ton anyway but I'm not sure if the 1.5-ton aluminum would be enough. Does the Pittsburgh 2-ton ever go on sale?
Is this for keeping in your car or at home? These jacks are not made for keeping in your vehicle. Like you said they're way too heavy. I made the dumb mistake buying one of these to keep in my trunk. Ended up returning it and buying a trolley jack.

This would be for using in the garage or driveway, then I could put the trolley jack in my trunk. It's still too heavy for me around the garage though. When I took it back to Lowes, I told the guy at the return desk that I now I know why they're called 3-ton jacks! 😆

The Pittsburgh aluminum 1.5 ton low profile rapid pump racing jack will be $79.99 next week during the parking lot sale. I use it on my Wrangler that's 4200lbs, but I'm not lifting the entire rig at once.
When will the sale start?

Use two bottle jacks with two jack stands. I made steel adaptors for use at the corner lift points. Min height is 9" so won't work with low riders. 17.5" max lift. Slide in the jack stands once the wheels are off the ground. $20 8 ton bottle jack (10 lbs) with Inside Track Club. Speed is not important at your age.

I believe this is the same HF model I got yrs ago in standard grey and just used it 2 days ago to remove the left front wheel on our SUV to inspect the brake rotor / caliper for rust and lube the guide pins. I actually keep it in the back of the SUV now that it's older and needs more frequent inspection (372K miles). Along w/ jump pack, air compressor, cordless impact, tire plugs, etc.

I checked the record for my previous 3 Ton floor jack. It was a PowerZone 380044 aluminum & steel. Lasted me 12 years before it started leaking oil. I think the rubber seals finally cracked. I paid $150 for that jack back in the day.

I went in at noon and they told me that they were all bought by people waiting for the store to open. Everything is like this now. It sucks.
This is one of the best deals on this particular jack in quite a while, we're in a shitty economy where everything is more expensive, HF opens at 8 am, and you expect to get one at noon? EEK!

If we can get away from the Snap-On argument for a minute, if you're needing a low profile floor jack, you might want to find a weld seam saver so you don't mangle your jacking point on your car. The cup on a floor jack doesn't exactly fit the spot on your car the greatest. HF has the metal kind. I use the rubber hockey puck kind... I got a two pack for $8 off Amazon.
