Harbor Freight's free gift promo stands out most for the XXL carry bag, which gets praised as a compact, tarp like tote with lots of real uses, from groceries and laundry to camping, trash collection, and hauling tools. The microfiber towels also draw interest, especially when the bag is priced around 79 to 99 cents. The cable ties get the weakest reception, and the tape measure raises a safety concern because thin metal tapes can cut fingers when retracting. Coupon stacking also appears inconsistent at checkout, so the deal works best when the free item is the bag.
Common Questions (5)
The XXL carry bag is a solid tarp-like bag that folds flat and has many uses, including groceries, laundry, beach gear, camping, attic storage, and trash collection. It can also handle heavy loads, with one use case described at about 58 lb per bag for farmer's carries.
The cable ties are a weaker option for this promo because they are described as not the best, and some users report they can become brittle over time. Others say they have used the same ties outdoors and in automotive use for years without issues.
The coupon can stack in some stores if the free item is scanned first, then the free-item coupon, then the paid DotD item. Some stores still block using a coupon on the item you are paying for, so the checkout order matters.
The tape measure can be a practical freebie, but cheap metal tapes may slice fingers when retracting. It is useful if you need another tape measure, especially since some people already have several at home.
It works for groceries, laundry, sports gear, beach towels, camping, attic cleanup, gardening trash, and even carrying tools like drills and a circular saw if handled carefully. A large carabiner can hang it from a car seat for extra storage when trunk space is tight.
