Harbor Freight's free gift promo stands out most for the XXL carry bag, which gets praised as a compact, tarp like tote with lots of real uses, from groceries and laundry to camping, trash collection, and hauling tools. The microfiber towels also draw interest, especially when the bag is priced around 79 to 99 cents. The cable ties get the weakest reception, and the tape measure raises a safety concern because thin metal tapes can cut fingers when retracting. Coupon stacking also appears inconsistent at checkout, so the deal works best when the free item is the bag.
The XXL carry bag can handle practical storage tasks like car grocery hauling, laundry, and camping gear organization.
The XXL carry bag can be cleaned easily by hosing it off after trash collection use.
The XXL carry bag material is described as more solid like a tarp rather than fraying like woven bag material.
Some stores reportedly allow a free item while applying a coupon to the only item being paid for.
The cable ties included with the free-gift option are described as not the best, and brittle zip ties can develop over a short period.
The free tape measure option may be risky because thin metal tapes can slice fingers when retracting.
The free gift offer may not stack with a DotD purchase at some stores, reducing the perceived value.
Coupon rules can be restrictive because a coupon may not apply to the item being paid for in some checkout scenarios.
