Got the FIWWAT Dockable Protective Case for Switch 2 last time. It is honestly comfortable, but it's cutting it way too close on the dockable part. So, I recommend having a screen protector on your Switch 2 if you're trying to dock with it because I'd be worried about it scratching the screen.

Community Reviews

This Woot app sale stands out for discounted Nintendo games and Switch hardware, with the extra savings often appearing only at final checkout after logging in. The strongest pulls are Switch 2 editions and exclusives like Metroid Prime 4, Dragon Quest Reimagined, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, and the rumored Ocarina of Time remake, while upgraded Switch 2 versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are praised for sharper 1080p handheld play and 60Hz performance. The main caution is that some Switch 1 titles cannot be upgraded to Switch 2, and refurbished items can arrive with minor box damage. A solid option if the specific game or handheld upgrade matters most.

Common Questions (5)

  • Switch 2 can be worth it if you want upgraded versions of major Switch 1 games, since titles like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom run at 60Hz and many upgraded editions look and play much better. It is also useful for handheld play of Switch 1 games at 1080p, but it is less compelling if you only want the older games and do not care about Switch 2 exclusives.

  • The discount often appears only at the final checkout or PLACE ORDER screen after logging in with an Amazon account. It can show as about $11 off on the checkout page, and the app flow can apply the 20% discount immediately once you proceed to checkout.

    immanewbjoeybuffetthatdecade

  • Yes. A new Amazon account can unlock a larger discount cap, with one shopper reporting up to $60 off instead of $40. The tradeoff is that shipping may still add a fee, such as $6.

    cheapjamesbondOrangeChannel8353phoinix

  • No. The Switch version cannot be digitally upgraded to the Switch 2 version, and the Switch 1 copy runs at 30FPS on Switch 2 while the Switch 2 version must be bought separately.

    PocketsThick

  • The case is comfortable, but the dockable portion is very tight, so docking with it can put the screen close enough to worry about scratching. Using a screen protector is a practical precaution if you plan to dock the console with the case on.

If you have a powerful pc the switch 2 isn't worth a pickup. Switch 1 games can be emulated on computer and run better than Switch 2. Frame rates of 240+ and resolutions 8k+. Just need to port your copy to pc to enjoy the benefits. You can stream from your computer to any android device like a phone or tablet using applications called Apollo and Artemis. This tip is for power users but saves a LOT of money.
That's true but some people may also be interested in Switch 2 exclusives, and you can't emulate those yet.

And local streaming is fine, but for anyone who likes to game on a commute or flight there's no good alternative to the actual switch 2 hardware. I've emulated my switch games on my ROG Xbox ally x and it's still a clunkier and worse experience than native hardware when traveling.

i'd be surprised if we are getting $400 switch 2s on black friday. if you're ok with refurb, this seems like a good way to go, especially if you can make a new account for $60 off instead of $40.

Isn't this one small step away from piracy? If you're copying the data from a legal copy that you presumably paid for, and then later sell the game, and you still own a copy of the game data on your PC hard drive? Or worse, you outright downloaded the game illegally for free. I'm sure no SD'ers have ever done that.

I dismissed getting the Switch 2 long ago, I think before it even came out. One look at the price and the fact that I never touched my pro switch anymore made it easy. All of a sudden there's an Ocarina of Time remake and it's only on S2? ! Am I crazy for even considering getting one now because of one game? The nostalgia bait is so strong.
