I've upgraded to a Switch 2, but the OLED edition fixed all my issues I had with the first generation, release day Switch I had.

I have OLED, do you think we can run Zelda Ocarina of Time on it some day?
It's really pisses me off how Nintendo wants people to buy $500++ console that has minimal improvements over it's last console just to play the new game. "hardware limitation"... i don't buy that.

As far as anyone knows, there are no good upgrade deals either right? OLED to Switch 2?

No upgrade deals, & i doubt OoT remake will be on switch 1. I wish it & fire emblem fortune's weave would come to switch 1, but that's a system seller, so i don't think it will happen.

Yeah but nintendo consoles always go up in price eventually. I regret never having bought a 3ds. Now that i want one, they are more expensive used than when they first came out.

You have good taste! I still play mine almost as much as my gaming PC. The Japanese ones on Ebay are fairly easy to language swap. I went that route a few years ago and snagged a few to mod. Point of advice if you consider "fixing" one: the top screen suuuuuucks to replace.

I loved and supported Nintendo for all these years but they finally joined the rest and now with Sony not supporting disc media, they just know how expensive pc game has become and they want to ride the wave....

A lot around the battery life...after a while the battery really seemed to struggle to handle handheld gaming for any good length of time. Certainly it looked better too. My biggest issue was the fan. The fan in my unit started going early. I am not sure if I just got unlucky but my fan was loud and ran often. Emailing Nintendo they offered to fix it for $99, but a trade in fixed it for much less.

its woot. My luck has been poor with their electronics, bad battery life, etc. I don't bother anymore.
