This KitchenAid attachment is best understood as a powered slicing and shredding add on, not a full food processor. It can handle parmesan and mozzarella better when the cheese is chilled, and the shredder blade gets the strongest praise. The main drawbacks are clumpy or uneven results on cheese and vegetables, plus reports of stuck food, difficult cleanup, and a housing that cannot be washed. It also runs too slowly to replace a real food processor, making it a niche helper rather than an all purpose prep tool.
The attachment can shred soft cheeses more effectively when the cheese is slightly frozen beforehand.
The attachment is positioned as a shredding-focused tool rather than a full food processor, which can fit users who mainly want shredding.
The attachment can work well for shredding mozzarella when the right blade is used.
A cheese-specific attachment option may reduce smushing when cheese is handled carefully with the pusher.
Shredding cheese can come out clumpy or uneven, and cutting vegetables can turn into pulverized pieces instead.
Cleaning can be difficult because stuck vegetables are hard to remove, and the attachment can collect dust over time.
The attachment may not run at a high enough speed to function like a fully capable food processor.
The housing cannot be washed, which can limit hygiene and make cleanup more inconvenient than a full processor.
