Even with less sugar, it's still a lot more calories and sugar than plain raisins. Cranberries do contain some unique vitamins and minerals. Was thinking of adding to my salad, but would I preferred without any sugar at all

Pre-soak them in a pyrex bowl, and store in the fridge - that's what I do.

There are plenty of no sugar added cranberries on the market however due to their tartness, most humans will not consume them unless cooked into something....thus the added sweeteners for those meant for direction consumption.

Agree. For those folks: Thanksgiving is around the corner, stock up on fresh, freeze and dehydrate at your own convenience.

i stock up after thanksgiving on the bagged raw ones, then freeze them and use in morning oatmeal throughout year. if you want the light tartness of dried cranberries in a salad just spritz in a little lemon instead.
