Please read my earlier comments on this. This is barely 1,000W, and you would probably be frustrated with the power if you're making green smoothies. Moreover, the blades on these tend to go dull pretty quickly, and you'll be even more frustrated with the low power once that happens.
The blade and the cap also get kind of melted-looking, rough, and gummy, and they never feel completely clean. These used to frequently sell for around $50 everywhere. $70 for just 1000W is ridiculous. They now also come with 1,200W, 1,400W, and even 1,500W motors. If you make relatively dense green smoothies, I'd opt for at least 1,400W.
And the noise is best described as that of a jet engine!
I've also had mixed experiences with their longevity before the motor eventually gives up. Maybe if you're just blending a yogurt drink with some blueberries, the motor and blades might last longer. Otherwise, Ninja seems rather unscrupulous in what they advertise these as being capable of.
I've switched back to traditional-blade blenders. If you're making green smoothies, I'd look for a six- to even eight-blade design at the bottom, which should help reduce the strain on the motor and potentially make it last longer. I'd also look for at least 1,200W. Always check Kohls for coupon and KC deals that might get you another reputable brand for less than $40.
The inexpensive two- or even four-blade models (mostly Hamilton Beech, Black an Decker, Oster) are really only good for yogurt drinks and similar light-duty blending.
