For heavy paint correction this is what is needed. You have to know how to use it properly though or can cause more damage.

SD staff seem happy to keep posting these "deals" because they get their cut. To the untrained, this is like using a screwdriver to brush your teeth. 30 years ago there were no cheap DA options. Now you can get a Bauer for $60ish.

https://www.harborfreight.com/57-...-64528.htm

And just FYI, you will spend 2x more than the Bauer costs on pads and polishes.

Or you can get this thing and burn through a few spots of paint, then you can shop for a compressor and spray gun....

Yeap and people that are expert at this probably are not interested in this cheap item. OTOH beginners shouldn't be using it.

The rotary warnings are fair but there's a middle ground nobody mentioned. These cheap rotaries are honestly fine for headlight restoration, boat hulls, glass, metal, basically anything that is not the clear coat on your daily driver. That's the one place a beginner gets in real trouble. As a dedicated headlights and odd jobs machine the price is not crazy.

Might be in for one. A cheap rotary is just the ticket for fiberglass. My DA polisher takes forever to do a small spot.

You can use it for buffing a car at low speeds, at high speeds it will burn the clearcoat. I use it for sanding or buffing metal, rust, wood, floors and a lot more too
