COSCOs 5 in 1 convertible hand truck is built for moving Costco hauls and other heavy loads, with a 3 position extendable handle, flat free wheels, and a folding toe plate that stores compactly. The current version is described as beefier at the handles and lip than earlier COSCO models, and it is praised as a solid, versatile cart for warehouse style use. The main knocks are price, since it has been seen lower in store and even around $120 earlier, and it still lacks brakes. A sturdy utility cart if you can live with the higher current price.

Actually it's easy to get confused. Most of us who got this for $100/$99 was the 3-in-1 type and this is 5-in-1. However, this 5-in-1 went down to $120 in July. So this at $150 is not really a deal. If you can wait for a low in store price. Check out this thread on this item in July for $120 https://slickdeals.net/f/19778019

I still have the old school dolly I got back in the day for 100 bucks from cosco, so gonna pass on the extra 19 bucks for extended handle.
... and it fixes the problematic all-plastic molded grip assembly that you haven't done enough hard work to break.

But that day is coming. Big GrinBig Grin

I own a commercial shipping business where we constantly move stacks of 20-30 lb boxes. I have bought about 10 of these convertible hand trucks for our warehouse going back 15 years. The very first version with the full metal handles ages ago was the best version but had weak wheels and dolly lip. The version with the folding lip and the thin black handles was by far the worst. Almost every dolly I got with that version broke at the black handles AND the lip. Unfortunately that was the only dolly COSCO made and sold through Costco for like 5 years.

This current COSCO version is definetely beefier at the handles (they added a bar coming across both handles) and lip, but we will see if it stands the test of time. The price for sure has gone up, but this newest version is better than what they had basically from 2019-2025.

There is also a fully metal one I believe at sams club that is around this same price. We just bought one of those recently and it is a solid unit.

I bought the 4 in 1 the first time it came to our warehouse and they let it go for $99.. Literally the best handcart I've ever owned. Ever single person who ever uses it with me is impressed with it. Solid built and can easily handle everything I've ever thrown at it.

When I was a wee lad, lamp oil straight from the whaling boats were three pence for a full keg! Aargh!! 😆

I had that one. I was lifting something about 200 lbs recently and the handle just bent down. The new one looks a lot stronger in the handle area. I returned the old one and bought the new model.
