These blink deals with the doorbells are pretty good. They must have made millions too many doorbells because it's cheaper to get stuff with the doorbell than by itself

If you get a Sync Module 2 and connect a 32–64 GB USB flash drive to it, you can use your own storage with the free subscription. This way, you can also avoid paying the annual subscription fee.

I use these with a Sync Module XR and upgraded with the other deal to XR+. Anyhow, I don't use subscription just to have a door bell.

What feature do you feel needs a subscription?

Looks like this one has the Sync Module Core? So no local storage?

Yep, no local storage. I purchased one like this and had to turn around and but the sync module 2 to have that option.

Yes, without the Sync Module 2 or Module XR the utility of these is pretty limited. There was a recent deal that included the Module XR so I ordered that.

The bad thing about these blink cameras is it will not record when you view live if you use the Sync Module XR to do recording locally. There is a workaround for that by using a third-party app or another app to do local recording when viewing live. Of course, you will not run into this problem if you pay a subscription fee.
