Man, they really don't want to include the 12amp fast chargers in any bundles. Hopefully they're clearing out the 8amp chargers for good. If you actually want to buy a standalone charger, the 12amp fast charger is actually cheaper than the 8amp at HD 🙄

I'm retired, got plenty of time to let batteries charge at lower rates. Plus they tend to last longer when not pushed via super fast high Amp charging. I just could use more modern batteries. And already have plenty of chargers.

Yeah, I get that. You're also correct about fast charging and battery degredation, but that's largely an issue of the past. Most llithium battery and charging systems today use sensors and a charging curve to only fast charge at low power state (e.g. <60% SoC) and slow to a trickle charge for the final 15-20%. This keeps the battery in good shape, however lithium batteries still degrade as the number of charging cycles rack up, regardless of charging speed
