I am an admitted watch-snob. While I'd always prefer a sapphire crystal, I can honestly say I've never scratched a hardened mineral crystal.

i own and like an Orient solar chrono. Very good quality and design. I'm not a fan of automatic watches. But, definitely would love to own another Orient watch. ... Like i need another watch .... LOL

I have both watches with and without sapphire glass. I can say that my sapphire watches all have no scratches (maybe tiny nicks) while most of the non-sapphire watches do have some scratches here and there. There's definitely an increase in scratch resistance.

This movement has a sweeping second hand, that's also nice for $150.

The number of times I was SURE I gouged my sapphire glass watches (and the ceramic inserts around them) only to check and not see as much as a scuff has me sold on sapphire only on every watch.

Dragged on door catches. Dropped on cement. Zero damage. It's basically magic!

Agreed. I slammed one of my sapphire watches against some rough metal at work so hard once that I just knew it would be damaged. I was shocked that there was only a fine line that I was able to wipe away and no damage whatsoever.

Same. I'm sapphire only and also only solar (eco-drive) or automatic. No more batteries to change.

And by the way, the movement is actually a F6722, not a F6922. Only difference is that the 922 has day and date, and the 722 date only.
