They advertise the carry-on as 20" height. As I was packing for my trip I thought I should measure and it was 23". My fault for not measuring sooner but they should not have lied. Now I have a useless carry-on that will not be allowed on any airline. And no the wheels do not come off.
Misleading Dims!! I searched all over for a suitcase with dims within the American Airlines max domestic flight dims of 62 linear inches. Per the description on Amazon the biggest suitcase in this set fit that! Wrong!! The dims listed are PACKING dims! The actual dims per the luggage tag are 64.77 linear inches including the wheels and handle!! That is what the airlines go by! The outer dims of course for cargo space!! Unfortunately I did not open this set until it's past the 30 day return but I didn't think there would be an issue with not clarifying on the Amazon description the correct outer dims!! Very unhappy that I trusted the dims in the description.
Samsonite is a great company with great products. This set of three suitcases is lightweight and durable, but has two major problems. I tried to get a hold of someone to communicate this issue, but can't seem to get a hold of anyone. The first problem is that the measurements are off by 3 inches on all three size suitcases. The measurements say that it is approved by airlines, but when you add 3 inches to each suitcase, they are no longer airline friendly and you will have to pay extra or not be able to take it on board. The other issue is that the larger two suitcases are weak in the middle and could crush your items in the middle of the suitcase while both ends are sturdy. Seems like they measured the suitcase itself while not including 2 inches for the wheels and 1 inch for the handle. Airlines measure the whole suitcase, including wheels and handles. The measurements are falsely advertised, because even when I measured the the luggage box itself not including the wheels and handles, it is still over half an over half an inch larger than their posted measurements. Please consider their other great products if you are planning on flying.

You should share this with Samsonite, as they don't want to make luggage which is not acceptable by the airlines.

So not that concerned that it's 1" too high. (domestic flights, i've never been stopped because of height or weight)
They might not weigh it from USA to destination but coming back to USA, it has.
majority of the time it's been weighed at either the counter or at the gate.
Luckily, my transatlantic flights in economy also have free checked bags.
(my carry on is waaay under the checked bag weight limit of 50lbs)
Downside of checked bags for overseas flights: Sometimes 30+ min waits at baggage claim because my bag is deep in the hold. (And that's after 15 min getting thru passport control. Yay facial recognition)
