Probably should include factory reconditioned in the title as this is misleading

#RealSlickShady, are you saying that there's a difference between factory reconditioned and refurbished?…

if they're so great, how come so many refurbished? And there's so many different models. And looks like they're making knock offs too. Will there be better prices in the upcoming sale holidays? Will we use it much when the house is already cold and expect a pretty cold winter? ... yeah I ask a lot of questions, just wanna know if anyone has any thoughts that might help me decide… Thanks!

So many philosophical questions, friend.

Having bought one from woot refurbished, I have a very strong conviction that they have this annoying unfixable bug where the unit does not turn on properly and must be power cycled by unplugging it and plugging it back in. I think it's pervasive across the deluxe line, and can't be fixed so they just accept returns and send them back out as refurbs. I just leave mine unplugged until I want to use it.

I got this from Woot in December last year for about the same price. Didn't use or even open the box for a few months initially. Then finally used it about 10 times this summer. The ice creams were okay (depends on the recipe I guess) but all they do is churn.

Then finally in one of the recipes I was a little low in the creamer but still went ahead and froze it. When I churned it the next day the blade has come off and I had metal shavings in my ice cream. If the mix is too hard it seems the machine just keeps applying the force to the blades and the gear which just removes the gear teeth on the blade and the machine.

I had the most expensive and the least tasty ice cream of all time. Now I'm left with holding the bag and 2 empty ice cream containers.

I have two of these and have been pretty happy with them. The entire system is just a motor and dull blade that takes your frozen pint and brings it to a consistency similar to ice cream.

The Creami isn't going to produce the exact consistency of premium ice cream, but if you have dietary restrictions or are looking for a healthy alternative it's worth considering.

My partner is allergic to milk, and making our own oat-based ice cream has been a real money saver saver. We've found combinations that produce a very nice outcome using sunflower oil and oat milk yogurt, reducing the amount of saturated fat. We've made blueberry, chai, green tea, vanilla, chocolate, mint, peach, and many more flavors.

It's a genius product that use to be only at restaurants. The 24 ounces gives a lot of flexibility. It's the best I think for people who have sensitivites or want to make lower calorie more nutritious ice cream. For fancy ice creams I default to my ice cream maker. The containers are mad expensive and there aren't as many knock off containers as the 16 ounce which seems to be more reliable. I bought one reconditioned years ago and just opened it and so far it's worked fine.

yes, I guess I don't wanna buy it if I don't have time to test it out within the return Period, which is 30 days?... do you think that happened more because it was refurbished? Because I thought they were supposed to be good at even making low-fat recipes?
and your summer ice creams weren't even that great? I thought they're supposed to make the best texture? Did you use a standard ice cream recipe? Because even milk, creamor yogurt blended with frozen berries in a blender is pretty tasty to me.... was it very noisy?

The ice creams were good. Obviously the ingredients I was using were towards the healthier side like real fruit (mango, peach) milk and cream. But the taste was not great. I was probably getting there with the mix and match and adjust part where the ice creams would be more desirable. The taste was just not great for the effort involved part.

Regarding the low on fat and the gear thread burnout, I googled it after it happened and there are scores of such instances...

Talked myself out of a Creami all summer, then the one price that would have done it sells out before I even see the thread. Same timing I bring to my tee shots.
