This Ridgid 18V subcompact brushless 1 2 inch impact wrench kit stands out as a compact, lightweight option for wheel swaps and everyday automotive work. It has enough power for passenger car lug nuts, non frozen fasteners, brakes, sway bar links, and even some corroded bolts, while feeling easier to use than heavier impacts. The included 2 amp hour battery makes the kit especially handy. The main caveat is warranty coverage, since the listing shows a 3 year warranty and LSA depends on registration within 90 days.

  • The 1/2-inch subcompact impact wrench can handle high-torque wheel work and can remove passenger-car lug nuts.

  • The compact and lighter subcompact design makes it easier to use more often for car maintenance tasks.

  • The kit's 2Ah max output battery is described as a nice compact and lightweight option for the subcompact tool.

  • A Torque Test Channel comparison reportedly found this Ridgid model compared favorably against Milwaukee's M18 offering.

  • The kit is described as having only a 3-year warranty unless the Lifetime Service Agreement is registered within 90 days.

  • The DTO product details are reported to mention a 3-year warranty without clearly stating LSA, which can create uncertainty before registration.

  • The kit's torque rating is reported as 250 lb-ft, and that level is considered not strong enough for some expectations.

  • Real-world use is reported as feeling too weak versus expectations from YouTube reviews, leading to resale.

ThanksFunny how they raised the price yesterday during the 1 day free shipping promo
From that I could see in the last couple of years, DTO plays with the discount %, shipping (free vs $5 vs $15). The more discount % it offers, the less likely you see free shipping. The average difference is $5-10 within a 12-month period.

I was going to wait for a deal on a brushless mid torque. This subcompact seems a decent enough deal. I'm not doing any heavy work. I'm just tired of looking/waiting for a deal to come along. I can now put this behind me

I have the 3/8" and use it for car and truck lug nuts torqued up to 130 ft-lbs, but those are for wheels that I have personally done somewhat recently so they aren't too corroded or over-torqued by a shop gorilla. But surprisingly, it's even worked on heavily corroded exhaust bolts. This little bugger really punches above expectations.
Thanks for sharing. This makes me feel better about getting this, instead of waiting for a mid torque.

For those who are on the fence, the fine print of the current promo says: "Offer valid 9/29/26 through 9/30/26 at 11:59 PM ET..."

So, you have until tomorrow to think about it.

Only 250lb foot tor not strong enough
Spoken like someone who doesn't actually do any work with power tools. You don't understand the use of a subcompact impact wrench.

The reason you buy ridgid is for the lifetime service agreement, this is ONLY a 3 year warranty… rather pay more for the full warranty.

Well, you are right. Until now, I thought Factory Blemished meant you still get the LSA.

The tool itself is only worth $60-$70. Why would you spend Another $60 on top of that?

As long as you Register a Factory Blemished within 90 days of purchase, you get a LSA.
If you don't register the tool, you'll still have a 3 year Warranty but you'll want to keep your receipt.

"Blemished" Ridgid products from DTO qualify for LSA just like your Ridgid purchases from Home Depot. Many of us have been doing this for years.

As far as "blemished" goes, every single blemished Ridgid tool I have gotten is brand new.

Both purchases from DTO and Home Depot qualify for LSA (Lifetime Service Agreement) - what you call "life lifetime warranty. Just like somebody mentioned, just make sure you complete the registration within 90 days of purchase.

3 speeds
3 Speeds plus auto-tightening mode, which is handy for snugging up things like lug nuts before getting out the torque wrench to finish the job.
