I paid $150 more for 1 less battery. This is an excellent sub 250g drone.

If I didn't have a perfectly functional 3 I'd jump at this.

Can't wait for these to get even cheaper. I lost my mini 3 in Vietnam and I need a replacement. I have been euro this for quite a while.

This combo is quite interesting. I've noticed it only appearing in the past 6 months. It's unfortunate that it's with the lower capacity batteries but still lets you claim sub 250g

I purchased it from Adorama a few weeks ago at 950. B&H has had this combo as low as 870. I haven't opened mine yet. Interestingly, Adorama lets you add 4 year warranty for $130 so imo that's the better deal. If you go with the free gifts package then that warranty price jumps considerably.

So are we going in on this or holding? Previous deals in August were around 7-800 but it was AE, never know what you'll get with that

It's not under 250g even with the regular batteries. That's why it has to be registered. Do some research or send it back, but to fly this you have to register with the FAA. This drone is a bust in the USA which is why they've been dropping in price.

Deleted comment as I think I'll hold out for a deal with the longer life batteries.

What you said about the weight is 100% correct. DJI official listed weight for the M5 Pro is 249.9 grams with a tolerance of 4 grams. It's legal to fly it in Europe without registration because they go by manufacturer's specs over there. In North America, they go by actual measured weight so you do need to register because the 4-gram tolerance will put it over 250 grams. Having said that, I wouldn't let this dissuade any potential customer from buying a M5 Pro drone. I often fly my M4 Pro in the US and overseas while on vacation and I've never had anybody ask me if my drone is under 250g. If I'm at a resort, park, or beach, etc... I always ask, out of courtesy and respect, if it's ok to fly. The management or local authorities will either say yes or no. If the answer is yes, then I'll just go fly. They never say yes, but only if your drone is under 250g. If the answer is no, it's because of a no fly zone. The drone weight has never been an issue. Granted my M4 Pro is under 250g, I can't imagine the M5 Pro would be a concern for being a few grams over. Now, if I were to fly a much bigger drone like the Mavic Pro or any commercial drone, then sure, weight would be a big concern, and registration is definitely a must.As for the M5 Pro being a bust in the USA, I think it has more to do with the current DJI ban than the weight. Can't really buy it from the DJI official store and have to rely on 3rd party sellers. And no support service from DJI either.Happy flying!

A "bust" because of registration..? It's 5$ for 3 years 😂
Besides ain't nobody riding around with a scale to measure your tiny drone… be real.

Just check the area for a no fly zone, apps are free, and don't be a jerk to the other humans around you. If you're too lazy or scared of registration, ain't nobody going to bother you.

Well, for what it's worth, it worked. 30% off equals a $344.70 discount for one and of course a $689.40 discount for two. That's roughly $805 for the lot (per unit, I mean), you could always buy longer life batteries. Just remember that that'll push it above 250g so technically you'll have to register to fly it, at least from what I understand...

Doesn't that assume that it's going to be +4g? If there's a tolerance it could be anywhere from 246g to 254g, correct?

I just did a quick google and everything I found (granted, I didn't look very hard...) says that it's sub-250g with the lighter batteries. Granted that they probably didn't account for any deviation...I guess I'm just asking for clarification here because this will be the first drone I own. I've flown other people's before, but never owned one myself.
