Don't know about this one, but the currently $4,100 14" base m5 max was $3,600.

I think it was ~2999 for the 1tb config (don't recall 2tb price). I remember looking at B&H which had the 1tb 64gb ram m5 pro on sale for 2699 at one point.

The 14.2 inch Macbook Pro with the M5 Max throttles a lot based on tests compared to the 16-inch with the same exact config. So, having more GPU cores will not be very efficient for the price you would end up paying.

I'm still sticking with my M1 pro 16/1tb and ordered a mac mini 32/512.
If you've already got a Macbook pro, consider just adding an always-on mini/studio and remoting into it :-)

Great point. I have this exact same MBP M1 setup and it's still chugging along after 5 years.

Whats the best way to remote in? Thank you 🙏

That's exactly what I did.
I'm planning to keep my macbook pro m1 pro for at least another 4 years before buying another one.

i have an old 2012 mac mini dual core config I use as an always on server... wondering what level mini/studio mX would be an improvement for it, or even my m1 max 2TB/64GB that is still chugging along happily. thoughts?
