Cables can only connect 1 at a time. Product in the post can connect 2 so its like having 2 separate cables. If you transfer data often and have both 2.5/3.5" drives, then sure. Otherwise, i would go with cheap cable. This isnt much of a "deal" anyway.
This device does not support a NVME or M.2 sata drive connector.
With that said, is the other computer on the same network? If so, you should be able to copy the contents from one drive to another through a simple file share. Lots of how-to vids on YouTube.
Another option is pull the HDD from the old computer, put into the Orico dock, then plug the usb cable from new pc into the dock. On the new PC it will appear as another drive, like a USB thumbdrive. You can easily, and VERY quickly copy the contents from the old HDD to the new computer.
With all that said, this is a great price IMHO for such a unit As noted above, a $13 option is probably all you need.
Very few people will ever use the drive cloning feature. I've used a couple in the past at my work... was so slow and had lots of disadvantages.
I hope this helped
Now my current work we clone drives as part of digital forensics, but not with a device like the Orico.
Funny this deal came up, I actually used two external drive docks at my home recently... had a ton of old 3.5" SATA and PATA drives I wiped then donated to my local schools for STEM classes.
This person is recovering data from one old PC. It might be one time use and store away till end of time.
also, this is an everyday price for 2 slot dock generic brand. here is one for $20.
