I think part of it might be people wanting to stay in the same ecosystem. I have two S7+ and an S5, so I didn't want to get yet another smart home app. But so far the app experience is the same.

I totally agree though, Roborock and Dreame is definitely charging a premium for what they offer. People like the perception of premium. "Ecovacs" is not a great name for a great product.

all these devices require constant cloud access, and app updates. They turn into bricks if the company goes under. Less likely for more established brands.

Does this do a good job of knowing when it's carpet and not to mop the carpet? Also, how does this robo mop compare to a manual steam mop in terms of how well it mops the floor?

props to the community for trying, but it's still essentially a dead car.
parts were hard to get even when the company was still operating. The software didn't work then either.

It's basically an car to tinker with if you get it for free.

Personally, going from a Eufy to a Ecovacs, I was not impressed with the Ecovacs app or navigation. It honestly did an awful job of mapping and the app just felt clumsy. Just my 2¢.

I haven't tried Dreame or Roborocks, but just ordered a Mova, so we'll see if it lives up to the hype.
