be aware, it is backward compatible with old saves. however, once you overwrite old version save with new one and then downgrade the game, it will not work. keep backups just in case

That shit really should be illegal
It probably is. Certainly against the TOS. There used to be a rash of Steam accounts sold like this on eBay, I assume hundreds of people all over the globe using the same account with countless games on it. Imagine being half way through a playthrough of your 200 hour game and getting a message that the account was banned for some random reason (likely cheating or behavior by a rando) and you have exactly zero recourse. But TBH, these people made their own beds by willingly participating in the process...

the path tracing isn't great but the RT on ultra settings looks much better than the OG.

Can you still play the older version if you want or does this lock you in to the remaster?
why would want to go back? if you don't like the ray tracing or path tracing enhancements just turn it off in the settings. From what I can see there are numerous quality of life improvements and the load times are much better in my testing on both console and pc, plus they DLCs are included as part of the standard remastered version.

Same. Had it on Xbox and Epic PC.

I think it will still have to wait a little while until I'm between classes.

The value of this is absolutely amazing, how you could have bought the base game 11 years ago and now you get the remastered version with both DLCs thrown in.
Released 11 years ago?!! holly crap how time flies after you hit 40

Do you need to actively do anything if you own the game already?

Apparently you can roll it back if you want. Part of me wants to play what everyone played when it won game of the year but I think it's been upgraded over the years. I'm not sure which version would be the best experience. Some people have complained about the new graphics.

On switch 2 you'll have to go download a separate update I read earlier.
I just went to the Nintendo Store and downloaded the Remaster version. It says it's free since I already own the base game.

Can confirm Play Anywhere. Owned Witcher 3 on Xbox, but can now also download on PC via the Xbox app.
