Quick reddit says "very low quality for the price" and a lot of returns....
Very odd "plastic free" marketing gimmick
According to the website for this company, it is tested and certified to the Specialty Coffee Association's (SCA) Golden Cup standard to maintain 195°–205°F through the full brew cycle and also has a pre-bloom infusion cycle.
As long as the quality is good, this thing checks out as a solid coffee machine on paper and appears to be very similar to the Technivorm.
Obviously you want to pair this with a nice grinder.

Technivorm has been around since 1969, and they build and test every single machine by hand in the Netherlands before it ships. Simply Good has only been around since 2023 and handles engineering domestically but relies on overseas mass manufacturing (China).
If a part breaks on a 20-year-old Moccamaster, you can buy that exact internal switch, carafe lid, or bracket directly from their site and fix it yourself. Simply Good doesn't currently offer that same hyper-modular catalog of raw internal components, meaning an out-of-warranty failure is more likely to require replacing the entire machine. This said, I understand your hesitation to return to Costco and get blacklisted.
I'd look at it this way - if you get the Simply Good, you are likely to enjoy it. It is SCA-certified and will almost surely make a great cup of Joe, so assume that you will not return it to Costco because you don't like the coffee it makes. The real risk is long-term reliability since it is a new brand with an unproven track record and lacking in aftermarket parts. If you go into it with the mentality that you will not return it to Costco and instead rely on the fairly generous 5-year manufacturer warranty (if the company is around that long and honors the warranty), then it might be a good buy.
For me, the biggest x-factor is the plastic of the Technivorm. I am not bothered by it, but I don't know the truth of its harmfulness (or not) and simply won't believe the so-called experts one way or another without evidence.
Also for what its worth, when I got my Technivorm, I deliberately chose a glass carafe. I don't like the way the metal carafes alter the taste of the coffee. Similarly, I usually use ceramic lined double-wall tumblers for the same reason.
