Sure you are talking about old school headphone released in 1997 hd600 so most of the opinion comes from people using them back in the day. Those days are long gone. Hifiman edition XS were release almost 15 years after (2021). Most reviewers consider them one if not the best headphones under $500 (at launch, much lower price now) which can even compete with $1000+ headphone with a little eq. Just a little google search between the 2 and 95% online you'll find people choosing the hifiman over the hd600 (including pro audiophiles reviews website)

You DO your research. I own both, plus many others and can tell you from first hands experience.

Hd600 have a point on build quality since they last forever unlike hifiman questionable build quality.

Seems like a decent deal on these, I bit. They were hovering around $280 on Amazon but lately stock has been in and out. Not as great as the $180 a few months back but 2nd best I've seen since I've been looking.

Friend bought during the last round so I finally got to try them, liked them a lot better than I expected. The lack of sub bass didn't bother me much, but if you want something more bass-friendly things like the FiiO FT1 Pro are a good alternative.

So dissapointed in this after getting the hifiman edition xs which was posted here refurbished for $84. Hifiman sound so much better than the sennheiser. Still keeping my hd600 since they hold their prices really well.

These were amazing pre consumer division sell in 2022. Not so much anymore.

Will never get rid of my pre 2019 pair.

It's because hd600 is one of the most neutral headphones in the world so it's going to sound really boring or flat. your probably use to V shape headphones. I personally use these for mixing and mastering also HD600 needs a amp and shines with tube amp

lol The HD 600's aren't anywhere near the level you describe. Now the HD800's are nice but my Arya's would smoke these.

Greatest of what? They're not as detailed as the hd800, focal utopia, susvara, they don't have a great soundstage, no subbass, mids aren't as good as zmf cans among others. You probably read some post about these a decade and just wanted to post something.

What's your heasphone setup consist of? Do you own these? Have you even heard these?

I actually purchased my first pair of these headphones on sale a little prior to Prime Day earlier this year and I thought that was considered a deal so if I was in the market for another, I'd def get one at the price of $230.

I've tried 30 hp's. 95% of the population won't notice the difference between these 2. They will both sound great.
