Does anyone know about the software update policy, if separate from the security update policy? How long can we expect this to receive new OS versions?

I got the P11 pro Gen 2 for a good deal a few years ago. The 2 years of major updates really soured buying a Lenovo ever again for me.

MediaTek Dimensity 6400 is a buzz killer. I would honestly buy Snapdragon 865 over this mediocre. Only good thing is that it has 8 gigs of RAM in RAMageddon era

2 years of updates, wow. I guess if you're okay with rooting after the 2 years this might be a decent cheap tablet.

It is the MediaTek 6400... this is identical to the G99 in multi core and 10% faster in single and GPU (which is not much) I have been saying you should buy a G99 for about five years. The point I am making is this is just too slow. Wait until you see a better deal for a better model. This tablet will only last a few years IMHO (and then no more updates and it will struggle with newer software).

We got the Idea Tab PRO about 9 months ago for about $235... that was a game changer. Now they no longer have the idea tab pro but have the idea tab pro 2 and it is too expensive right now.

worth the exta money!!!! While it is no Idea Tab Pro which has a higher end CPU/GPU. I would classify THIS deal as LOWEND, the Tab Plus Gen 2 as MIDEND and the Idea Tab Pro as very high midend or low high end.

I also had one but right after the last update mine doesn't power on anymore. Tempted to buy another Lenovo tablet but every time I remember that one it stops me from buying.

You have to search for your specific device, but here is a full list:

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/...s/ht501098

This device will only get upgraded to Android 17, although security updates should supposedly continue until September 2029.

I just got the idea Tab Pro gen 2 for $366 after tax. The SD 8s gen 4 isnt the greatest but for the price it really gets all the job done. Can run basically all the emulators without issue.

Not true. I have this tablet and can connect to an external display using a USB-C to HDMI cable (as well as casting).
