Amazon Fresh Just Bright is a light roast whole bean coffee that fits well as an everyday rotation coffee, especially if you want a brighter cup and a bit more caffeine by scoop. The price lands around $4.68 per pound, which makes it feel reasonable for current coffee prices, and the 36 ounce total is cheaper than the larger bag some normally order. It is also described as a decent, low acid coffee with flavor that differs from the usual Costco medium dark beans. The main drawback is that it is still 100 percent Arabica, so it is not the best choice if pure caffeine is the goal.

  • The light roast can deliver a higher caffeine yield per scoop compared with dark roast when brewing by volume.

  • The coffee can help break monotony when rotating through other Costco bean varieties with different flavor notes.

  • The deal price can fit shoppers seeking low-acid coffee options.

  • Using Amazon cash can reduce the effective cost to about six dollars for three 12-ounce bags.

  • The stated caffeine expectation for light roast may be overstated because caffeine concentration per weight can be higher in dark roast.

  • The claimed value of roughly 20 cents per ounce may not hold up for a 12-ounce bag at that rate.

  • The coffee may not satisfy pure caffeine goals because it is 100% Arabica rather than Robusta.

This is not a good deal. However, this is good coffee and it's a DECENT price for current economy, I guess. They're regularly 20 cents an ounce or less, so it seems the market has now found its way to Amazon brands also
20 cents an ounce or less? So a standard 12oz bag for $2.40? not since 1996 lol

and you have a better deal to share with everyone? Gotta love blanket statements with no proof and no deal to beat it.

Caffeine levels in the beans have nothing to do with roast levels it is highly stable and the amount lost in dark roast is negligible. If anything, due to water loss at higher temperature, dark roast beans have higher caffeine concentration per weight. Cheers

I'll give it a shot; I prefer the high caffeine from light roasts and Costco warehouses tend to never have any light roasts. I know that costco has light roasts available for shipping but the unit cost just isnt there for me so I usually end up doing the columbiano one or whatever. I think another slickdealer had mentioned the light roast they have in stores around the holidays (I want to say it is starbucks seasonal) so I may have to do a coffee off between these two or something

This is similar to Costco sales prices. Is this better coffee than what I can get at Costco?

Thank you for this, today I learned Smilie Also wanted to share an article (NOT mine) that I found about this too: https://coffeegeek.com/blog/techn...-caffeine/

I still will stay with my light roasts though if I can; I mentioned in another comment that this was mainly for caffeine but a close second is for taste (dark just tastes too burnt for my pallet)
