This is not a good deal. However, this is good coffee and it's a DECENT price for current economy, I guess. They're regularly 20 cents an ounce or less, so it seems the market has now found its way to Amazon brands also

Caffeine levels in the beans have nothing to do with roast levels it is highly stable and the amount lost in dark roast is negligible. If anything, due to water loss at higher temperature, dark roast beans have higher caffeine concentration per weight. Cheers

I'll give it a shot; I prefer the high caffeine from light roasts and Costco warehouses tend to never have any light roasts. I know that costco has light roasts available for shipping but the unit cost just isnt there for me so I usually end up doing the columbiano one or whatever. I think another slickdealer had mentioned the light roast they have in stores around the holidays (I want to say it is starbucks seasonal) so I may have to do a coffee off between these two or something

I still will stay with my light roasts though if I can; I mentioned in another comment that this was mainly for caffeine but a close second is for taste (dark just tastes too burnt for my pallet)
