This Phomemo D421R is a compact thermal shipping label printer aimed at faster daily label printing, especially when compared with taping paper labels or dealing with toner and cutting. The built in label bin and roll storage are appealing for keeping labels inside the machine, and thermal printing avoids ink. The main drawbacks are the lack of Wi Fi, which limits remote packing workflows, and the LCD and percentage display feel more like a gimmick than a must have. Auto detection and the paper level display also depend on Phomemo RFID labels, so the convenience features are tied to specific supplies.

Yeah, most people would be better served getting a Brother wireless black and white laser printer. Way more versatile and high yield generic toner can be had for super cheap.
Yup. I have been doing this, but with the 2 to a page labels from UPS. I don't like printing on paper for labels without completely taping over the label. I deliver the mail, and I have seen way too many packages where the label becomes unscannable due to rain, the package becoming somewhat damaged, etc. I like the idea of this small label printers, but the thermal labels is a cost.

Lol no. I'm literally that guy. I have a brother laser printer and between the stupid expensive toner cartrage and the time to cut the label and then use packing tape to put it on... I've found my $50 chinesium label printer to be an excellent upgrade. I do 5-15 labels daily.

Now I'd really like one like this that held the regular roll inside it like the one here. Dust settles on the labels then makes the labels not perfect in my shop.
Hopefully you're buying the generic toner cartridges on Amazon. Also, if you have a UPS account, they will send you 2/page sticky labels for free.

Which Chinesium label printer do you have?
Nelko. Had a weird memory issue where it would print old labels... But it somehow fixed itself (the app did) bc it hasn't printed a wrong label in a year now.

Looks like the white one is $10 higher than the black one so it's coming out to $69.99 for me

If you think toner is expensive, it's because you're using OEM products. Why in the world would you be using OEM drums and toners? You can get a four pack of toners for less than 40 bucks using third-party toner

There are Bluetooth thermal printers for printing shipping labels on Amazon for less than $40. You can occasionally find one for $25 from a new seller trying to get sales and reviews. A lot of these all look the same but branded for different sellers.

Maybe you just got a bad set. If you print a decent amount, it probably wouldn't hurt try again as cheap as they are. I print about 1000 pages I might buy a cheap brother laser. I use both third-party drum and toner without issue. I don't even use a third the same seller, just the cheapest pack I can find that month.

You can sign in to your UPS account and order free supplies as long as you do regular shipping purchases. They limit you to 1 roll per style though. 4x6, 4x4. We usually get one of each available. Giant 4x6 has like 3000 labels on it. Most zebra printers have the ability to pass folded labels or a roll. You can put it on label stand (plastic costs few bucks on Amazon or 3D print at home). Thick nice labels
What printer do you use that is compatible with UPS labels?

Looks roll size is limited to fitting inside the machine? I get the big rolls from UPS for free so need something that passes through, not limited to what fits inside =\
There should be a slit at the back of the printer where u feed the fanfold labels, you can prob find something to hold up your big roll and feed it thru the same slit. I don't have this printer but I use zerbra thermal printer at work and we feed those 5000 fanfold labels thur the back slit.
