This renewed Moto G Play 2024 deal is mainly attractive as a cheap way to get a Tracfone line and harvest the included year of service. The phone itself is usable for light tasks, house phone duty on Wi Fi, or an emergency burner, and the transfer process can add service time and even carry over data. It is also described as sluggish for basic apps like YouTube, and activation may stall because the box does not include a plan PIN. The included allotment is only 1500 total for the year, so the value depends on whether the service time matters more than the handset.
The included Tracfone plan can be harvested to extend service time beyond the phone itself.
The transfer process reportedly can avoid data loss while adding harvested data to an unlimited talk and text plan.
The phone can work for low-demand use cases like a house phone on Wi‑Fi or an emergency burner phone.
A prior QVC deal experience suggests the phone can still handle basic tasks if expectations are adjusted for slower performance.
The included plan allotment is reportedly only 1500 total for the entire year, which may limit value.
Activation may fail because the activation flow can request a plan PIN that reportedly was not included in the box.
The device performance can feel noticeably sluggish for everyday apps like YouTube.
A Walmart alternative may differ in processor, such as lacking a Snapdragon, which could matter for performance expectations.

I'm sure they can get more than $10 back by reselling the new G Power vs the renewed Play version, but what do I know. *shrug* It's also only 1500 TOTAL for the entire year, is it really that valuable? I was surprised it wasn't 1500 per month.
I have the unlimited plan on Tracfone so minutes and texts added are not important to me, but to add another year of service time is.
I just did a harvest from a phone that I had for more than a year from an HSN deal and it went easier then I imagined that it would.
The 611611 TRASFER method that was mentioned in another thread.

these are not the best phones, but they are great for harvesting.
also, dont forget to lock your line as it activates a cool down of 30 minutes if someone tries to port out your number. during this time you will receive a txt that someone is trying to port out your number and you can call in to tell them to stop the port out.
