This Suncast 18 inch snow shovel is a lightweight, low cost pusher that also works for scooping leaves. The black version appears to be last year's model, but it feels the same as the blue one aside from color. It is best suited to light snow and general cleanup, with the thin handle and plastic blade drawing concern for bending, kinking, or cracking on heavy ice. At this price, it reads as a simple utility shovel for easy jobs.
Homeowners clearing light snowfall from sidewalks, because the blade and shaft feel fine for light use.
The handle is reported as very thin and may bend or kink under heavy use, especially with ice. For light snow, it can still hold up, and one test showed only a slight bend without kinking.
It is described as very thin and light, with a handle that can bend under heavy ice. It should be fine for light snow, but it is not a good choice for icy or packed snow.
Just picked this up. This is black color not blue as pictured. I bought a full price ($19.98) one less than a month ago and it was blue. My guess is this is last year's version. However, aside from the color difference, I cannot tell any difference between the two.
One near me showed 30 in stock but when I went there none were to be found anywhere and the employees had no clue where they'd be. Lowes is really circling the toilet.

That's why I ordered mine online for pickup in store, to avoid situations like yours.

Expect the handle to bend or break. $5 is exactly what it's worth. You can read reviews on Home Depot by searching the model number. This version is black.

It's a very thin aluminum, it feels very light but you could put it over your knee and bend the shaft. Perfectly fine for light snow, but it won't cut it for icy snow.

I just put mine between two chairs and stepped up. Slight bend but didn't kink. I'm of average weight. It says "steel core" whatever that means. Anyway seems like a steal to me at $6. Good luck!
