Battery prices are outrageous. I thought Costco 40 Duracells AA are ripoff because it was $18.99. After seeing prices here, Costco prices are actually decent. I recently had to return Kirkland brand AA batteries which are manufactured by Duracell were leaking before the expiration date. I paid $9.95 for 72 batteries somewhere around early 2020.

Not comparable batteries these are lithium with a 10 year service life comparing to alkaline. I am 100% certain you didn't buy 72 lithium AA batteries for 9.95. That said this deal is cooked because it shows 15.19 for me not the advertised price.
