Let the Best Buy Price matching begin. If you have the M4 Mac Mini, Best Buy trade in value is $500. This would be a $200 + tax cost to upgrade with trade-in.

Because M4 has replaceable SSD and makes more sense, so Apple wants them off market ASAP.
But you are not able to replace SSD without soldering in M2 and M6.

I did the price match last week when it was 799 and it worked fine. Now they are telling me that Best Buy has excluded this specific item from price matching

User upgradable in the sense that you can no longer upgrade the NAND SSD module since they soldered it back to the logic board

The last user upgradable mac mini was in 2012. The whole point of a SOC is to have everything in one die. Until they get rid of the M-line of processors, you will not see any user upgradable systems from mac. Besides, with pricing being so crazy for memory chips, I would cost you more to do any significant upgrades to any system. A 32GB set (16GBx2) of DDR5 is around $450.
