Bought this at Walmart clearance a couple months back for $100 or less. If you're looking for something simple then this will do. I had trouble setting up the remote access through the app. I ended up giving.

I have 3 of them (I have a big house). Simple and reliable. Works without internet. Only issue I have is a persistent warning that my time zone isn't set whenever I access the App. Works with home assistant.

I've had this thermostat installed in my house since 2022. Works as it should. No problem using it with the app on my iPhone.

It replaced a version 1 Nest. My retired wife didn't like it when the nest took it upon it self to change the temp setter to "away" when I went to work even when we tried to disable this feature.

The honeywell unit isn't as slick as the nest was, same for their respective apps. The honeywell also doesn't have an auto setting where it will change from Heat to Cool depending on the temp inside. You have to manually choose either Heat or Cool. The nest could auto select Heat or Cool.

Before you buy ANY thermostat, check with your energy companies. Many offer rebates on smart thermostats making them cheaper or even free.

also check if by getting a discounted thermostat that you are not granting them access to control your unit

So the first time around, to set up your app, you need to register on the website. PC, browser on smart phone, etc.As stupid as it sounds, you can't set up the app from within the app.No issues since setup though, and it was free through a state program, so I can't complain too much.
