This barebones AM02 stands out as a low entry price for a Ryzen 7 H255 mini PC with Radeon 780M graphics, especially for anyone already sitting on RAM and an SSD. The chassis is quiet, boots fast, and can handle light to moderate gaming well, with BIOS updates and driver support available from Firebat. The main drawbacks are warm memory under load and the lack of OCuLink or USB4, so expansion headroom is limited. It is a practical pick if you want 780M performance without paying for a full prebuilt.

  • Heavy-game players who need eGPU headroom, because the system lacks native OCuLink or USB4 and only offers awkward M.2-based expansion.

  • Builders who want plug-and-play performance tuning, because RAM temperatures can climb into the 60s and the BIOS may not fix weak benchmark results or sleep issues.

  • Shoppers comparing barebones against a full prebuilt, because current RAM and SSD pricing can erase the savings.

  • Users expecting trouble-free Windows sleep behavior, because the machine can wake immediately after entering sleep in Windows 10.

If you don't mind modifications, you can always use one of the m.2 slots for an oculink adapter. Won't look pretty.
I already know about those. Not really interested in doing mods though.

Honestly, with RAM and SSD prices being the way they are and me not having any spare DDR5 SO-DIMMs on-hand, it seems like a full prebuilt is going to be more cost effective than barebones DIY.

I've seen a couple of options for $500-600 but the brands (Getorli, Glorlin, Reatan) seem even iffier compared to other Chinese-branded Mini-PCs. I've been looking daily for a good deal but if I don't find one, I reckon I'll wait and see what pops up during Prime Days.

Great price. Only wish this had OCuLink or USB4.
It has two m.2 slots. You can add oculink with a cheap m.2 to oculink adapter

I know. Again, I'm not interesting in modding.

And after I've checked current RAM and SSD pricing, this barebones really isn't any cheaper than a full prebuilt. I feel like every time I check parts pricing, RAM has gone up again by $50+ per 16GB.

I can't see a person buying this mini pc with the intentions of using Oculink. I know of six people who own a mini pc and not one of them have any interest in buying a GPU and a GPU bridge for the occulink. In addition, yes USB4 would be nice... but beggers can't be choosers. Point is, at this price point... who cares and how much do you think it will effect you?
I use Minisforum MS-A1 with a DEG1 occulink

So I purchased this last time for $232 and it came with 512GB gen 3 and 2x8GB DDR5 5600 RAM. I installed a new OS... you will need the ethernet and wifi drivers from Firebat.

The machine ran very well. It had a super fast boot time. Games played as good as it can with a 780m. I would recommend buying laptop fan and keep it ontop of it during game play but you don't have to. The machine is also very quiet.

The one good thing about Firebat VS Acemagic is that Firebat does release new bios updates when needed... and acemagic usually never release any bios updates.

For this price, I think it is a buy. I have 32GB of DDR5 5600 RAM but no hard drive.
Ram and Storage prices have shot up in the mean time

When was this? That price at $232 is insanely good if you got it with the 512 ssd and ram.
