Why would anyone in their right mind buy an iRobot? Who cares about the price. The company went bankrupt this year, got sold to their China parts manufacturer, fell too far behind the competition, and their products are junk now.
Roombas are so bad now that Amazon is tricking consumers by merging all of the past Roomba products into the feedback ratings just to inflate the product scores.

Thanks for the reality check... for a minute there I thought I was in a time warp. Now to figure out how a company like crocs has not yet suffered the same fate.

Don't all the best robovacs come from China anyway?
We just swapped out two roombas for Roborocks and the difference in technology is shocking. The Roborock tends to achieve better results in half the time, plus it can mop - which we haven't tried yet.

Roborock has significantly better software and auto-mapping. It is REALLY good.

Totally agree with this. I'm sure it is NOT a coincidence that all of our i/j7+ Roombas have started to have issues following their maps and scheduled cleaning jobs. They are also ignoring keep out areas. I've gotten a good ride out of them over the past few years but the writing is on the wall with this company and their robots. The fact that they were also into military robots and all the IP went to China is scary as hell and a head-scratcher compared to the stance our government has taken with Chinese phones.

People are going to think I am a crazy person, but I HATE my Roborock, and I usually don't use language that strong! (And no, I'm not a shill either, promise!) I switched from an older iRobot to a multi-function Roborock and I feel like it cleans a lot less, gets clogged without erroring a lot more (I'd rather have the iRobot crying constantly!) and is just generally awful at everything. I was used to babysitting my iRobot all the time and that and all the high praise was why I changed, and now I just want my old one back, but I gave it away to a friend!
And I'm not just the "set it and forget it" type, I cleaned my iRobot and I also have two Dysons that I take apart, clean, and replace the parts of whenever needed!
Am I doing something wrong?! Am I secretly living in Bizarro world and communicating across the dimensional expanse?! Why am I the only one who HATES it?!
I'm sorta tempted by deals like this when I see them, but I do know about iRobot's bankruptcy and all that drama and figure I wouldn't get what I used to have... but, is anything decent anymore?!

If it's the auto-empty while it's mid-cleaning, only iRobot can do that because they have a patent on it. So if that's a make or break feature for you, you're stuck with iRobot until the patent expires. Which Roborock model did you get?
