Yeah, they've had problems in the last 10 years. I'm not talking about old school issues. They were great for a while since around when they doubled the warranty, but more recently they've had serious engine problems.

Hyundai's are notorious for electrical issues, even in their Genesis line.

The warranty is great, but I'd rather have a reliable car.

If you do consider this, compare the price on Amazon with the dealership's website. Last time I checked, there was a $2300 - $2800 price difference between the two for the exact same car. (Amazon being higher priced) Also looks like some of my area used car lots are selling through Amazon now.

Odd. That's not supposed to be the case. When the dealer updates the price on their website, Amazon usually reflects that change within 24 hours--if it doesn't you can contact Amazon and ask them to pull down the new pricing per the dealer's website. They run automation to get updated pricing daily from what the CS agent told me so they should reflect the same price unless the price drop is new.

Last I checked, Amazon won't take large payment amounts from just any bank, though. You need to have Chase, Bank of America, or Wells Fargo to make a payment over like $500 if you're planning a larger down payment as part of your purchase.

Oh, and let the dealership know you're buying on Amazon. The training Amazon gives on this process is minimal and if the person who handles the Amazon sales for the dealership is off work when you go, the other employees are going to struggle if they've never done it before.

Not a good deal. You can negotiate more than $1500 off when you work with the dealership, the prices on the Amazon site aren't really deals at all. These are all sucker deals.

You can take advantage of both if your dealer is motivated. I did. Delays the process a bit if their Amazon specialist isn't there, but you can negotiate and then ask to use Amazon for the purchase to get the $1500. But these promos are also made for people who hate the whole car buying ritual and just want to pay a price and go home.

In my area, cheapest car is the Elantra. $24k msrp, but with another $1k off. So, $23k and the $1500 GC.. so consider it $21.5k. No need to negotiate.

That's pretty cheap for a new car. With a full warranty for basic daily transportation
